If there is one thing that always baffles me, it’s post modernism. The hotbed of crippling ability to act upon. In the world of post modernism, all views are equal and everything is worth discussing and all opinions must be respected.
The death of Bin Laden should have called that bluff, not all peoples opinions or actions are tolerable. Female gentile mutilation isn’t excusable, and firing missiles on school buses shouldn’t be allowed.
However that’s not the world we live in. The world we live in, which is a savage one, will allow anything to pass – if enough polish and rhetoric is attached to it.
I remember when I was 18 and had the great “privilege” to listen to Iraqs ambassador to the UN give the most moving speech about the plight of the Iraqi people and the horrors of American badness. This was 1999. In the great spirit of keeping up appearances, one could believe that what that man was saying was the utter truth. But god, like everything else, is in the details. No a word about the acid baths, the rape platoons, the use of chemical gas on their own civilians, nothing. And George Gallaway smoked a fat one with his buddy.
Bin Laden is merely a symptom of a world that won’t say “enough”! Not all opinions should be heard, violence as a political tool should be forbidden, and war as a technique to resolve ideological conflict isn’t legitimate. The US should have never invaded Afghanistan and Iraq – it would have spared the lives of about 150,000 people. Put all that money into hunting the top echelons.
I will go further and say this, in the spirit of pluralism, democracy and human right, as a ferevent beleiver in them as a matter of fact, those who do not promote Western Style democracy should live under the threat of death. Plain and simple.
The ongoing abuse human rights, or pseudo protection under “”international law” and global “governance” has simply allowed for these disgusting movements and regimes to flourish.
Darwin said that only those who can adapt survive. Without dictatorships and dictators having to fear for their lives, they won’t evolve. It’s our job in the West to put a gun to their head. Do or die. Democracy or death.
